Each individual’s narrative commences at a specific juncture, encompassing diverse experiences such as educational journeys, personal and social development, motherhood, and career aspirations. These narratives may conclude at various points, intertwine with others, and undergo transformations over time. Unbeknownst to us, we may be currently experiencing a period of exceptional creativity within a particular storyline, which may not fully manifest for several years to come.

My narrative commenced during my high school years in 2005. It was during this time that I discovered the “behind-the-scenes” aspect of DVD extras, specifically for the movie “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.” I was captivated by the metamorphosis that actors and actresses undergo to embody their characters on the silver screen. While I had never aspired to be in the spotlight, I found solace in the realm of filmmaking and storytelling. The ability to transform a blank canvas into a meticulously crafted world set in a distant era and climate was a profound allure. The countless hours of footage meticulously edited to achieve optimal shots and maintain continuity captivated me. It was during this pivotal moment that I made a definitive decision: I had discovered my true calling.

Since then, I have made a conscious effort to integrate the arts of film and video into every aspect of my life. Whether through studying abroad on a videography scholarship, enrolling in film courses at Emerson College and Massachusetts College of Art and Design, or connecting to like-minded individuals in the city who shared a passion for art and collaboration, I have consistently found it essential to immerse myself in the realm of filmmaking.

Throughout my life, being a creator has been a profound means of self-expression, a passion that transcends personal fulfillment. While my artistic journey has taken various forms, including mentoring children from preschool to middle school, it is in the moments when they wield their creativity and discover their artistic potential that truly resonate with me. The impact my art has on others, inspiring them to reflect, relate, learn, and ultimately share their experiences, fills me with a sense of purpose, fulfillment, and rapture. These moments remind me that I am making a positive contribution to myself and my community.

My artistic approach is often described as experimental, allowing me to conceive an idea and transform it into a cohesive script, storyboard, timeline, and ultimately, a piece of work that lingers in the mind of my audience, even for a fleeting moment. This process of creation and refinement is a testament to my artistic control and a source of immense joy.
